CMS Development Coordinator

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS), one of the leading
mathematics organizations in Canada, works to enhance Canada's
capacity to innovate and compete globally by promoting the discovery,
learning and application of mathematics in Canada. With approximately
1000 members from across Canada and beyond, the CMS's active
volunteers support efforts to identify and develop young
mathematicians (through its math competitions, math camps and other
educational activities) and to enhance the practice of mathematics in
Canada (through national conferences, publishing research journals and
books as well as newsletters).

Reporting to the Executive Director (CMS), the Development Coordinator
will be on the ground floor of a new fundraising effort to help ensure
the CMS can continue to expand its programming for the benefit of
mathematicians and mathematics in Canada. The Development Coordinator
will manage the CMS's fundraising efforts working closely with its
volunteers and professional staff. The Development Coordinator will
also draft proposals to prospective donors and assist with CMS's
direct response and marketing efforts.

The successful candidate will be an effective fundraiser with superior
organizational skills and the ability to inspire and manage volunteers
as part of a national organization. He/she will be creative,
energetic, tactful, and flexible and will have good judgement. He/she
will have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong service
orientation. Ability to speak and write in French is an asset.
