   The 8th PIMS Graduate Industrial Mathematical Modelling Camp (GIMMC) 
               is to be held at the University of Lethbridge,
                               May 7-12, 2005

            The 9th PIMS Industrial Problem Solving Workshop (IPSW)
                is to be held at the University of Calgary,
                              May 16-20, 2005

   The Graduate Mathematics Modelling Camp (GIMMC) is designed to give
   graduate students in the Mathematical Sciences an opportunity to learn
   techniques of mathematical modeling under the supervision and guidance
   of experts in the field.
   GIMMC are held every year at one of the PIMS universities. The purpose
   of this camp is to prepare graduate students for PIMS' annual
   industrial problem solving workshop. Mentors from industry and
   academia are invited to teach students strategies for approaching
   solutions to mathematical problems of industrial relevance.
   We invite Graduate Students and faculty to participate in this
   exciting and educational event. A number of graduate students who
   participate in the Graduate Mathematics Modelling Camp (GIMMC) at the
   University of Lethbridge, May 7-12, will as well participate in MITACS
   6th Annual Conference at the University of Calgary, May 11-14.
   Graduate students are invited to apply in order to participate in both
   GIIMC and IPSW workshops. There is an electronic submission for GIMMC
   (which is also an application for IPSW and participating in 2 days of
   MITACS meeting) available at PIMS website

   This year there will be Graduate Students who will participate in
   MITACS and IPSW workshop only provided they arrive in Calgary by May
   11 for the MITACS 6th Annual Conference and meet at least one of the
   following criteria:
      1. Participated in GIMMC in the past or acquired some other
   confirmed industrial projects experience;
      2. Have an accepted presentation to MITACS 6th Annual Conference

   Please provide us with details in the Area(s) of Specialization field.
   Travel expenses will be paid up to a certain cap for successful
   applicants, food and accomodation will be provided. The application
   includes statement of research interests and a letter of reference of
   your supervisor. An unofficial copy of your transcripts can be
   requested when your application is processed. You are also welcome to
   apply if you do not need financial assistance.
