Hello everyone,

 

The University of Calgary Chapter of SIAM
<https://siamucalgary.wordpress.com/>, with the support of
the Department of Mathematics & Statistics <http://math.ucalgary.ca/>,
the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences
<http://www.pims.math.ca/>, and the CMS Student Committee
<https://studc.math.ca/?page_id=4>, is proud to host the first Calgary
Applied and Industrial Mathematical Sciences Conference (CAIMSC)
from *May 21^st *, 2017 to *May 22^nd *, 2017. 

 

The conference welcomes researchers from the academia (faculty members,
post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students) and the industry.

 

The conference website is up and running at ucalgary.ca/science/caimsc/
<https://www.ucalgary.ca/science/caimsc/>. Potential presenters are
welcomed to submit their abstract for a talk or a poster presentation
by *May 10^th *, 2017.

 

The conference will focus on the following themes:

  * Applied PDE and Numerical Analysis
  * Mathematical Physics
  * Quantum Information
  * Geophysical Inversion
  * Mathematical Finance and Actuarial Science
  * Discrete Applied Mathematics
  * Applied Cryptography
  * Biostatistics

*Reimbursement and funding:*

 

Partial travel and accommodation support will be available for a number
of non-local student participants. If you would like to receive travel
support, please indicate as such when registering.

Poster reimbursements will also be available to both local and non-local
students. In addition, *three poster prizes* have been considered for
the best three poster presentations.

L’association étudiante de SIAM à l’Université de Calgary, avec le
support du Département de Mathématiques et Statistiques, du /Pacific
Institute for the Mathematical Sciences/ et du Comité étudiant du CMS,
est fière d’organiser la première édition du /Calgary Applied and
Industrial Mathematical Sciences Conference (CAIMSC)/, du 21 au 22 mai
2017.

Nous souhaitons inviter des chercheurs du milieu universitaire (membre
de la faculté, stagiaires postdoctoraux et étudiants gradués) et des
partenaires du milieu industriel.
