The CMS Student Committee is looking for proactive mathematics students 
interested in building a dynamic community for Canadian mathematics 
students. The Committee wishes to fill vacancies in its membership, 
including a student representative from Ontario, a student representative 
from Quebec, a student representative from Western Canada, a newsletter 
editor and two general member positions. We are particularly interested in 
knowing if interested students have graphic design skills, have worked 
with student groups or are willing to be a MITACS liaison.

Among the Student Committee's current projects are: publishing a national 
student newsletter, developing a resource Web site for students, helping 
the CUMC in preparing its proceedings, supporting local student math 
conferences and seminars.

The Committee members' terms will run from September 1, 2008 to June 30, 
2010. Both graduate and undergraduate students are invited and encouraged 
to apply.

Joining the student committee is an excellent opportunity to learn about 
how mathematics in Canada is organized, to meet students and professors 
from across the country, to do some meaningful work, and to have a great 
time! In addition, student members will receive funding (both travel and 
accommodations) to attend the next four CMS meetings, including the ones 
in Ottawa and St John's.

Le Comité étudiant de la SMC recherche des étudiants actifs en 
mathématiques intéressés à aider à bâtir une communauté dynamique pour les 
étudiants en mathématiques au Canada.  Le Comité étudiant veut combler les 
postes vacants suivants: un(e) représentant(e) du Québec, un(e) 
représentant(e) de l'Ontario, un(e) représentant(e) de l'ouest du Canada, 
un éditeur pour le périodique national étudiant et deux membres provenant 
de n'importe où au Canada. Nous sommes particulièrement intéressés à 
savoir si vous avez des talents en design graphique, si vous avez déjà 
travaillé avec des groupes d'étudiants ou si vous voulez être le lien avec 
le comité étudiant de MITACS.

Parmi les projets actuels du comité des étudiants, on trouve les suivants:

Les membres étudiants assisteront, frais payés, aux quatres prochaines 
réunions de la SMC, les deux premières étant à Ottawa, ON et à St-John's, 
NB.
