The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a 10 
month limited term position as Assistant Professor (Special Category) in 
applied mathematics, beginning in August 2008.

The successful candidate will be required to teach 3 courses of which at 
least two will be in the area of numerical analysis.  It is also hoped 
that they will participate actively in the research life of the applied 
mathematics group.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree at the date of appointment and a 
strong background in mathematics. They are expected to have a record of 
demonstrably successful teaching.

Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, an 
account of teaching experience, a statement on teaching, and the names, 
phone numbers and e-mail addresses of at least three references (with two 
addressing the teaching record).  Ideally, submissions and references
