POSITION IN MATHEMATICS, UNIVERSITÉ DE MONTRÉAL, CANADA.

The Department of mathematics and statistics invites applications for one tenure-track position in pure mathematics at the rank of Assistant professor starting in June 2009, subject to budgetary approval.  A PhD in mathematics or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to candidates working in analytic number theory, but outstanding candidates working in subjects closely related to number theory will be considered. Le Département de mathématiques et de statistique de l'Université de Montréal sollicite des candidatures à un poste de professeure ou professeur en mathématiques fondamentales à plein temps au rang d'adjoint débutant en juin 2009, sous réserve d'approbation budgétaire. Un Doctorat en mathématiques ou dans une discipline jugée pertinente est requis. La préférence sera accordée aux candidates et candidats possédant une expertise en théorie analytique des nombres, mais toute candidature exceptionnelle dans des sujets étroitement liés à la théorie des nombres serait considérée.
